> BEFORE_YOU_CALL
Don't call blind. Before picking up the phone, look up the business on Google Maps and note their name, what they do, and their rating. The more personal your opening, the better your conversion rate.
- Have the business name ready
- Know their category (restaurant, plumber, etc.)
- Check if they have a Facebook or Instagram and mention it if they do
- Call during off-peak hours (mid-morning or mid-afternoon)

"Hi, is this [Business Name]? Great, my name is [Your Name] and I'm a local web designer. I noticed you don't have a website yet, and I'd love to help you get online. I build affordable, professional sites for local businesses. Do you have 2 minutes?"
"Hi, I was just looking up [Business Name] on Google and noticed you're showing up well in search, but there's no website linked to your listing. I help businesses like yours get a simple, professional site that brings in more customers. Is the owner available for a quick chat?"
> HANDLING_OBJECTIONS
"I totally understand. A lot of businesses get by on word of mouth. But 80% of customers check online before calling. Even a simple one-page site with your hours, location, and phone number can double the calls you get. And I can have it live in under a week."
"I completely get that. I offer starter packages starting at $[your price], and it's a one-time cost with no monthly fees. Think of it as a permanent ad that works for you 24/7. Would it help if I sent you some examples of sites I've built for similar businesses?"
"Absolutely, what's the best email to reach you? I'll send over a few examples and a simple pricing breakdown. Should I follow up in a couple of days if I don't hear back?"
> FOLLOW_UP_STRATEGY
- Day 1: Make the call. If no answer, leave a short voicemail and send a follow-up text or email.
- Day 3: Send a follow-up email with 2-3 examples of your work and your pricing.
- Day 7: One final follow-up call or message. Keep it brief and friendly.
- After that: Move on. Don't chase, because there are plenty of leads in the scanner.

> TIPS_THAT_ACTUALLY_WORK
- Mention that you found them on Google, as it shows you did research and makes it feel less like a cold call
- Focus on what they gain (more customers, more calls) not what you do (build websites)
- Keep your initial pitch under 30 seconds because your goal is to get a conversation, not close a sale
- Call 20-30 businesses per day, as conversion rates are low but the volume makes it work
- Businesses with 4+ star ratings and 50+ reviews are more likely to invest in growth
